TripStop wins Venture on the Road Asturias

TripStop has been declared the winner of the first stop of Venture on the Road, which took place yesterday evening in the city of Gijón. The program was organized by BStartup of Banco Sabadell, SeedRocket, and Wayra, Telefónica’s corporate venture capital arm, with Google Cloud as a collaborator.

The VIII edition of Venture on the Road, which kicked off this year in Asturias, continues its goal of finding the best investment opportunities in each region and giving early-stage startups the chance to present their projects to investors and build a network of quality professional contacts.

At this first stop, held yesterday, Wednesday, December 4, at the Gijón Science and Technology Park, Venture on the Road partnered with local organizations like CEEI Asturias, Gijón Impulsa, Astur Valley, and El Camaleón de Rubik.

The four finalist startups were:

  • AcuPet: a software program for monitoring pet health through proprietary neural networks that also promotes healthy actions for people.
  • Enfasys: a modular control system for managing energy flows, designed for commercial and industrial sectors, combining solar generation and lithium battery storage.
  • Code Evolution 24: a platform offering multiple tools for communities to centralize their audience in a controlled space, enabling interaction while generating valuable data for their businesses.
  • TripStop: an app for finding spaces for motorhomes or campers where you can stay overnight, with real-time verified tourist information and reservations.

The event also featured Rubén Ferreiro, CEO of Grupo Viko, co-founder of Yaba, managing partner at Lanai Partners, and mentor at SeedRocket, who delivered a talk titled: “Key Decision: Bootstrapping or Venture Capital for Your Company.” He discussed the various funding options available to entrepreneurs and the implications of each.

TripStop, the winner of Venture on the Road Asturias, now has a spot in the national grand final to be held in May 2025 in Madrid, alongside the winners from other cities. Additionally, it will join Google Cloud’s digital natives program, receiving up to $2,000 in credits valid for 12 months, architecture review, and technical support from platform engineers, as well as preferential access to advanced training in Google Cloud Platform programs. It will also automatically enter the selection process for SeedRocket’s Entrepreneurs’ Campus (33rd or 34th editions), taking place in May and November 2025, respectively.

Venture on the Road begins its journey in Gijón, traveling across various Spanish cities to identify regional talent and promising startups beyond major hubs like Madrid and Barcelona. The event will visit Zaragoza, Seville, Bilbao, Girona, and Alicante.
