Innogando Wins the VII Edition of Venture on the Road

After visiting León, Elche, Palma de Mallorca, Donostia, Málaga, and Vigo, the seventh edition of Venture on the Road concluded with the participation of the six winning startups from these cities. As in previous editions, this travelling event, organized by BStartup of Banco Sabadell, SeedRocket, and Wayra (Telefónica’s corporate venture capital), with Google for Startups as a collaborator, maintained its usual format and goals: to identify the best investment opportunities in each region and give early-stage startups the chance to present their projects to investors and build a network of high-quality professional contacts. In total, more than 70 startups were analysed, with 110 investors participating.

The six winning startups from the different stops were:

  • Modular DS: Winner of Venture on the Road León (November 2023). An online tool for web designers and developers to centralize and automate the management of their websites and improve client relationships.
  • Tu Trámite Fácil: Winner of Venture on the Road Elche (January 2024). This startup has designed a tool that quickly and easily informs users about public grants, benefits, and subsidies they may be eligible for, offering direct processing for individuals and businesses.
  • Hydrostat: Winner of Venture on the Road Palma de Mallorca (February 2024). A sensor that monitors the water status of woody crops to reduce irrigation water use and improve fruit quality.
  • Worldpats: Winner of Venture on the Road Donostia (March 2024). A B2B digital platform that provides companies with automated solutions for the international mobility of their workforce.
  • Arca: Winner of Venture on the Road Málaga (April 2024). A SaaS platform specializing in employment pension plans for any type of company.
  • Innogando: Winner of Venture on the Road Vigo (May 2024). This startup applies advanced technology under a B2B model to monitor and locate livestock, promoting traceability and sustainability for end consumers, while improving efficiency and sustainable farming practices.

After the project presentations, a roundtable discussion titled ‘Investing in Spanish Startups: What’s Happening?’ took place, featuring Yolanda Pérez, Director of BStartup at Banco Sabadell; Paloma Castellano, Director of Wayra Madrid; Sara Martín, Global Manager of SeedRocket; Marcos Alves, Co-founder of ElTenedor and Partner at Luda Partners; and Miguel Burguete, Startup Partner Manager EMEA at Google. During this discussion, they had the opportunity to share their perspectives on the world of investment in tech startups within the current socio-economic context, considering both favourable and challenging circumstances.

Following the roundtable, Marcos Alves delivered a keynote speech titled ‘How to Build Your Own Plane While Flying,’ in which he discussed the tools and strategies necessary for a startup not only to stay afloat but also to successfully reach new heights.

To conclude the event, the winning startup in this grand final was revealed to be Innogando. The national winner will receive a prize package from all the partners, which includes specialised financial, or marketing advice valued at €3,000 offered by BStartup; participation as an invited project in the Entrepreneurs Campus and 3 hours of mentoring from SeedRocket; access to Wayra’s offices for 6-12 months, as well as priority invitations to their sponsored events, a contact network, and participation in their workshops and training sessions; access to Google for Startups at the Madrid Campus for 6 months and 2 mentoring sessions with their team to identify growth opportunities; it will also be part of Google Cloud’s digital natives program, with up to $100,000 in credits valid for 9 months, architecture review and technical support from their engineers, as well as priority access to advanced training programs from the Google Cloud Platform.
